Bye Bye Canada Post, Hello 21st Century

So Canada Post will lose 1 billion dollars a year if it keeps operating on its 1970 business plan.  Even the P.O. knows this is not possible.  So what went wrong?  Like a typical monopoly, Canada Post, both management and unions, bathed in the status quo until the reality of competition shook off the complacency.  O.M.G.  internet?  UPS?  Fed Ex?  But what about us?  Well boys and girls, the horse and buggy days are gone.  Time to move on.  But legitimate questions remain.  The elderly, small businesses and special interest groups need a postal service.  So what is the answer?  First, don't hand the problem over to Canada Post.  Open it up to competition.  Let the free market forces come up with a solution.  They always do.
